The past few weeks I have been taking a couple of courses online to meet degree requirements for Dalhousie and they have been working me pretty hard. I have been working all day and night on these courses in order to finish them for September and usually that means that I’m ignoring my makeup all together, but sometimes I want a little something to help make me feel a little more put together. This something happens to be my “no makeup” makeup look – something that wouldn’t look strange if I go out in my yoga pants and baggy t-shirt with my hair in a messy bun, but still looks a little bit put together. And as a bonus it takes all of five minutes!
I skipped the primer today and started off with MAC’s Matchmaster SPF Foundation in Shade 1.0 and worked it into my face with the Bare Minerals Precision Face Brush. The foundation covered up most of the unevenness in my skin, but it does need a bit of help with my dark circles and pesky blemishes. To hide my dark circles I used a combination of Maybelline New York’s Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser and the NARS Creamy Concealer in Light 2 Vanilla. The Maybelline concealer covered up most of the circles, but needed just a bit of help with brightening to help make me more awake. For my blemishes I used the NARS concealer, which works like a dream. It is by far the best concealer I’ve used to cover up acne! To set all of that I went in with MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish in Light and ELF’s Studio Complexion Brush.
With my base covered, I added just a touch of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Blushing Bride so I didn’t look so ghost-like. I am so in love with this blush and I really can’t wait to try more of Tarte’s makeup!
Because this is a simple look, I wasn’t sure if I was going to use any eyeshadow, but I am so in love with Maybelline New York’s Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze that I couldn’t resist. I swiped just a little bit on my eyelids with my finger and topped the look off with Makeup Forever’s Smokey Extravagant Mascara.
And there you have it! A simple look for those days where you just need a little bit of help around the edges.
