Fashion Magazine recently posted an article highlighting ten trends for Fall 2014 inspired by the runway and some Canadian Beauty Bloggers thought it would be fun to put our own spins on those trends!
I was more excited than I expected to be to try out this eye look. I usually shy away from anything that isn’t neutral so far as my eyes go, but as soon as I started these posts I had to run out and find some green eyeshadow that I could use.
I pulled out an old favourite for this look – Wet’n’Wild’s Comfort Zone palette, but instead of sticking to the safe brown side, I went for the greens. I used the palette pretty much as directed, with the olive-ish green swiped all over my lid, the dark crease shade blended into the crease and the almost-black iridscent definer shade tapped into my outer v for a smokey definition. I then mixed the copper colour and the chocolate colour from the left side of the palette and lightly swept it over the entire lid to warm up the look just a tiny amount. It was a little too brown after that, so I went back in with the olive green colour and tapped some of that back into the centre of the lid. Then after some major blending (and pulling the colour to my lower lash line) I blended Rimmel’s Brown Scandaleyes eye liner into my upper lash line and lower water line. A couple of coats of Maybelline The Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof mascara later, and that’s the eye look!
Oh, and the lipstick is MAC Viva Glam I for those of you wondering – one of the products I’m trying to finish by Christmas!
I think this is going to be a new staple in my makeup rotation because I am so in love with this look. I’m really looking forward to playing with this palette more now that I’ve realized how beautiful green eyeshadow is!
What’s your favourite way to wear green on your eyes?
