This post contains products that were sent to me for my consideration. Go here for my disclosure policy.
If there is one thing I appreciate about the colder months, it’s that I can wear all of the dark, vampy lipsticks I want. Even with their high maintenance tendencies, I can’t get enough. Give me those brick reds, deep wines and vampy purples baybay.
I actually had a really difficult time narrowing my picks down to a size that I felt was a good one for this post, so we may have to do a part two before the month is up. That being said, I chose 5 products from my stash that are just perfect for autumn and it just so happens that these bad boys can all by found in the drug store.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo
San Paulo is about as neutral as I get for a typical autumn lip. This beautiful dusty rose pink glides onto your lips so smoothly, though it can be a tiny bit drying, so I like to add just a tiny bit of Burt’s Bees lipgloss in Ruby Moon. (See how I snuck another product in there? Told you I had a hard time narrowing it down.) However, by itself it is absolutely gorgeous and would be perfect for those of you who don’t want to go full out on the dark lip category.
Wet’n’Wild Mega Last Lip Color in Cinnamon Spice
I was sent this lipstick only a few days ago but it provides such a stunning vampy lip that I had to include it. Cinnamon Spice definitely has a bit of a brown tinge to it, but it’s not so noticeable that you’d be transported straight back to the ’90s. I love how Wet’n’Wild’s Mega Last Lip Colours sit on the lips – they are velvety in texture and just hydrating enough that you don’t need to put lip balm underneath. I haven’t had a real chance to test out the wearability yet, but from how it feels on my lips, I think it would live up to it’s name.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick in 107
If you are in search of a matte berry lipstick, search no further, because this is the one. I have been wearing it just about non-stop this month and for good reason. It’s so flattering and easy to wear that it’s practically begging you to put it on.
Wet’n’Wild Mega Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum Fairy
This is another recent acquisition, but once you see the swatch you will know why. It isn’t quite so in-your-face purple like Revlon’s Shameless so it definitely has more of a wearability factor that you might even be able to walk into the office with. It’s definitely got that berry factor to it, but with more pink to in that Rimmel Kate 107 has to it. I honestly can’t decide which one I’m more in love with.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless
You had to know this was coming. I mean, I’ve been raving about it for months. I feel like I’ve said everything I could possibly say about this beauty in my review of it here, so I will leave you with that.
