REVIEW: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Since purchasing my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge my foundation game been revolutionized. Before the aptly named miracle sponge I had been using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which I still absolutely adore and use on the regular (often when the sponge is dirty), but the difference between the finish after using these two is outstanding.

Miracle Complexion Sponge

The Miracle Complexion Sponge gives a stunning airbrushed finish that I haven’t discovered from any other product. Granted, I haven’t purchased the Beauty Blender or any of the other similar sponges to compare it to, but there is definitely a difference between the sponge and a brush. The product is distributed across the face evenly so that even my enlarged pores disappear and any fine lines that you might have are no longer noticeable – especially if you use a good primer first.

I would definitely suggest that you dampen the sponge before using it so that your product doesn’t get completely sucked into the Miracle Complexion Sponge before you can use it. I have a feeling that little bit of water that gets distributed with your foundation really helps with the flawless look too, though I could be completely misguided in that thought. To apply my foundation I literally bounce the Miracle Complexion Sponge around my face almost haphazardly until my foundation has been applied to my liking – it’s quite simple and more entertaining than using a brush. Even cleaning this bad boy is fun (if time consuming) – there’s something about squeezing the soaked sponge between your fingers and seeing all that old makeup flowing into the skin that is so satisfying. It helps that the Miracle Complexion Sponge feels really weird (in a good way) when soaked in water…
