The Naked 3 Palette is easily my most expensive palette. I usually end up buying eyeshadows from the drugstore because you can find such amazing quality there, but last Christmas Dylan bought me the Naked 3. I loved it so much that it was what I did my eyes with for my wedding but I have been gravitating towards my newer eyeshadows lately. I thought it was about time that I pulled it out of it’s drawer and played a little bit.
I started off with the usual primer – That Gal by Benefit and then concealed with Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Concealer in Cool Sand and a little bit of the NARS Creamy Concealer in Vanilla before blending in BareMinerals READY Foundation in R150. It’s been a while since I used this foundation and I have to say I’m really loving the airbrushed finish!
I added a tiny bit of The Body Shop’s Honey Bronzer in 01 to the hollows of my cheekbones before filling my eyebrows with Revlon’s Brow Fantasy Duo in Dark Brown and swathing on L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Collection in Julianne’s Nude onto my lips.
Now for the eyes. The best thing about the Naked 3 palette is how versatile it is. While it mostly hosts pinks of various shades there are some amazing neutral cool tones in there too, which is what I mostly focused on for today’s look. Don’t get me wrong, I love using the lighter end of the palette, but fall calls for a bit of a darker eye, no?
I started things off with my NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Primer and a little bit of Strange dusted all over my eye and up to my brow bone. I then patted Buzz all over the lid and swept it lightly over my lower water line to add a bit of definition there. Liking the way it was going, I mixed Mugshot and Factory together and blended that into the outer third of my eye and crease. I darkened the crease further by going back in with Factory and blending that further in before adding Blackheart to the outer v of my eye. My lower lash line was looking a bit meh so I darkened that up a bit with Mugshot. By this point things were looking pretty good, but needed a bit of blending, so I grabbed a tiny bit of Limit and swept it all over the lid before lining my eye with Blackheart.
I finished off my look with a healthy coat of MUFE’s Smokey Extravagant Mascara and a spritz of my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. (Which I just used up – noooooo!)
I can’t believe I’m saying this with a look that includes nude lips but this feels so me! Have I officially been converted into a dark eye + nude lip girl?
