Empties 3: November 2014

November Empties

November Empties

Where did November go? I feel like Halloween just happened a few days ago!

I wasn’t planning on doing another Empties post this month, but my bag was getting super full thanks to some of the bigger items inside, so I figured I might as well! A lot of the products in here aren’t actually empty, but are either products that very much disappointed me or that I have recently replaced. So that’s close enough, right?

St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Wash I did it, I used it up! Yeaaah! This was a decent enough body wash – it got me clean, left me smelling good – but I wouldn’t say it was moisturizing like it said it would be. I doubt I’ll buy it again purely because I have had it for so long.

The Body Shop Cool & Creamy Tea Tree Facial Wash I loved this cleanser for quite a long time, but I am glad to see it go. It wasn’t working as well for my skin anymore, but in the beginning it cut right through any spots that were forming. You go Body Shop.

e.l.f. Daily Brush Cleanser This was an okay brush cleanser for in between heavy duty washes but it smelled absolutely awful. I also needed to use a lot to get anywhere so it’s definitely not worth the value in my opinion.

LUSH Eau de Roma Water Mmmm I love this product so much. It’s so moisturizing and smells just divine. I am definitely sad to see it go, though I’ve decided to try out the Tea Tree version instead of repurchasing.

LUSH Butterball Bath Bomb This is my all time favourite bath bomb – it leaves your bath water creamy in colour, silky in feel and sweet to smell. I will definitely be repurchasing.

LUSH Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb I think I had this bath bomb last year but I decided to pick it up again this year. It was alright, I definitely enjoyed watching it explode in the water, but it doesn’t compare to Butterball in my books.

LUSH Melting Snowman Luxury Bath Melt This was so cute, I was sad to use him! He worked wonders with both Butterball and Lord of Misrule and yes, he was definitely moisturizing.

Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Moisturizer Sample My all time favourite moisturizer! I don’t know what it is about it that my skin loves, but it really does love it. Unfortunately it has been out of stock on the website for months…

e.l.f. Studio Eyelash Curler I never really understood eyelash curlers when I used this – it didn’t do anything spectacular to my lashes that made it worth the extra step. But then I bought my new one and wowza, what a difference. Needless to say, I won’t be repurchasing – thought it was good for a first eyelash curler!

Random pencil sharpener This sharpener has to be ten years old. I think I originally got it as part of a Christmas present with some Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen makeup long before Elizabeth and James was a brain child. I haven’t used it in years and my new Sephora Collection pencil sharpener has this size of sharpener in it if I ever need to use it.

Arbonne Eyeshadow Quad in Mint Latte This is another oldie, but it was certainly well-loved. I’ve transferred two of the shades to me Z-Palette, but I just don’t feel like the other two were worth keeping seems as they’re so far into the pan. I doubt I’ll buy one of these again unless they’ve made the formula more pigmented and less chalky, though the colours were definitely nice!

e.l.f. Eyeshadow Quad in Hazy Hazel This is another super old quad that I pretty much only used to do my eyebrows. I haven’t used it for quite a while and now I have the Anastasia brow powder so I really don’t need it.

David’s Tea Forever Nuts Sample This sample came with my and Dylan’s David’s Tea Advent Calendar and I looooved it. I’m very excited that there is more Forever Nuts in the calendar!

David’s Tea Just Peachy I loved this tea. It came in the Summer Collection and I was definitely sad to see it go, though I need to use up some more tea before I even think about rebuying it.

e.l.f. Lip Stain in Cherry Bomb and Plum Ugh, these products were awful. I think I only used them once or twice because they were so bad. They had a felt tip on them that might have worked fine if it hadn’t been so stiff and scratchy. It was very uncomfortable to apply and once you did get it on it was super patchy and didn’t stain very well. Byeeee.

e.l.f. Dual Pencil Sharpener This was a great little sharpener, but I needed a bigger size and it just so happened that one at Sephora was a 3-in one, so this one is going away, I’m afraid.

Random Brow Comb This is another tool that is so old I have no idea of it’s origins, only that it’s really really old. I use a spoolie to comb out my brows and this was just taking up space in my drawer, so it’s finding a new home.

e.l.f. Professional Blending Eye Brush This is the only blending brush I own and it is officially dead. The majority of the bristles have fallen out so it is nothing but a scratchy nub. I won’t be repurchasing this as it didn’t last me very long at all, but as it was only $1 I can’t be too disappointed in the quality.

GUM Mint-flavoured Floss I’m so impressed that I finished a floss! Again! *proud* I really liked this floss – the wax stuff is a lot more gentle than non-waxed floss, so it was a lot nicer to use than the last once I used.

19 empties if you count the tools and disappointing products. Not bad at all! Did you use up anything this month that you’ll really miss?
