A few days ago I was fortunate enough to receive the LUSH Golden Wonder Gift Set in the mail after attending the Canadian Beauty Blogger‘s monthly Twitter party. This month’s brand of the month is LUSH and my name was one of the ones drawn to receive a gift from LUSH. The fragrance of the Golden Wonder bath bomb greeted me as soon as I opened it up and I gotta say this was one of my most exciting baths in quite a while! Continue reading

Winter Skincare Routine

Winter Skincare RoutineThis post contains products that were sent to me for my consideration. Go here for my disclosure policy.

I have a rather large rotation of products in my winter skincare routine, but I’ve pared it down to the can’t live without products to create a little roundup post.

My skin is temperamental. It’s acne-prone, though not always oily. In the summer, most definitely, but in the winter I’d say it leans more towards the normal side with a dash of oiliness on the forehead. But still acne-prone with a dash of sensitivity. I’m always battling with it and trying the next product that will hopefully tame it without making it angry. I think I’ve found some real winners this time around, and some products that I’m even planning on repurchasing if/when I run out. Continue reading

I love trying new lipsticks. They were my gateway product into this whole blogging world and my adoration has only gotten stronger since. So having the opportunity to try the Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipsticks and an accompanying lip liner was really exciting for me. Especially because of those colours. Give me purples and berries all day every day and I’d be the happiest blogger ever! Continue reading

Tea Time: David’s Tea Ginger Beer

David's Tea Ginger Beer

My obsession with David’s Tea has come around full force this month with the dip in the temperature and the holiday product releases. There’s just something about winter, the holiday’s and tea that gets me really excited like no other time of the year. So there’s going to be quite a few tea posts coming up in the next few weeks! But today I’ve got a review of David’s Tea Ginger Beer, the November Tea of the Month.

I haven’t tried many of the Tea of the Month’s this year, only Yogi Berry and Electric Lemonade, but of the few I’ve tried, I’ve found that they’ve been very unique teas that have been so fun to drink. Ginger Beer is definitely the same and I’m so glad that I decided to try it out when Zoe and I went in last week.

Review | ecotools Quick Volume Styler Hair Brush

ecotools Quick Volume Styler Hair Brush

Hair brushes aren’t typically that exciting of a product to write about, though this ecotools hair brush isn’t the first one I have tried and loved enough to dedicate an entire post about. Before this I have only tried a very small handful of ecotools products, though I have head that their makeup brushes are great quality, especially for their price point. The Quick Volume Styler Hair Brush is a very reasonable $10.99 and is good quality.

The bamboo handle is a very nice touch and helps the otherwise plastic brush feel a little more luxurious. It’s light and well balanced, so there’s no issues of arms getting sore from using it which I always appreciate! And it really does what it says – it gives my hair some lift when it so desperately needs it, and it helps my hair dry so fast thanks to the vents in the core of the brush. Continue reading

Hairball Control & Avoiding Feline Urinary Tract Infections with Hill’s #PetSmartLovesCats | AD

Hills Science Diet Pet FoodDisclosure: This post is sponsored by Hill’s® Science Diet® and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Hill’s® Science Diet® Feline Urinary Hairball Control food but Up the Rollercoaster only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. I don’t know if you know this, but when we first got Korra from the shelter, she quickly got what we started to refer to as a kitty cold. It was an upper respiratory infection, which we discovered is actually quite common for shelter cats. It was still very scary for us and both Dylan and I were so worried for her. She wasn’t eating, barely drinking, and slept all the time. Luckily the vet helped us out with some really stinky (read: tasty for cats) cat food, electrolytes and instructions not to worry too much. That last one didn’t really work, but it was a relief that our new cat, who we adored so much already, would be alright.

Ever since, I’ve been so afraid that she’d get sick again. The best way to prevent that, besides annual checkups and vaccinations, is to feed her high quality food. It can be so daunting, though. Does she need gluten-free food? Should she be on a raw diet? I don’t have the answers to those questions, but I do have some information on a new cat food from Hill’s® Science Diet® that helps with hairball control and fights urinary tract infections. Anything that’ll keep our sweet girl healthy, right? Continue reading
