Over the last year Maybelline quickly become my favourite brand for lipsticks, whether it by high end or drugstore. The Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks are creamy, pigmented and long lasting without drying out your lips or leaving the dreaded ring of lipstick around the mouth. Even the matte formula! I could wear the matte formula for days without it destroying my lips.
I only have six Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks, but it’s a number that I’m entirely happy with. I wouldn’t say no to more, especially some of the vivids, but with a smaller number, each of these beautiful lippies are well loved by me. I have three creamy mattes, which are light weight, comfortable and more of a semi-matte than a true matte, and three of the regular Colorsensational line, a hydrating satin finish. All of these lipsticks have a very light vanilla scent that doesn’t linger long once applied.
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 410 Blissful Berry
Blissful Berry (a satin finish) is one of my more recent acquisitions. I bought it for the Drugstore Makeup Look I posted in November and while it hasn’t gotten as much love as it deserves, it has had a frequent spot in my rotation. Blissful Berry is a beautiful berry colour that sits right in between purple and red and the creamy formula makes it so easy to wear. But don’t let the creaminess scare you away – this lipstick doesn’t stray out of my lip line, even without a liner.
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 665 Lust for Blush
Lust for Blush (a matte) was one of the first Colorsensational lipsticks in my collection, and the state of the bullet shows it. It’s one of the creamy mattes and is a beautiful cool toned pink-ish mauve that I especially love to wear in the fall.
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 660 Touch of Spice
I can’t believe it took me so long to add Touch of Spice (a matte) to my collection, because it was one of the first ones that really caught my eye. (Thanks to Courtney) It’s a very in color right now – perfectly in between red and brown, and I love it.
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 075 Let Me Pink
Let Me Pink (a satin) is the perfect My Lips But Better shade on me so I probably wear this one the most. It’s a beautiful rosey neutral that I have about a million of in my collection, but Let Me Pink is one of my favourites because of the hydrating formula.
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 657 Nude Nuance
Nude Nuance is the newest Colorsensational shade to enter my collection. All fall I had been itching to buy a vampy brown, but I was afraid of getting one that was too cool toned for my skin. Nude Nuance is the perfect solution. It’s definitely brown, but it has enough red in it that it’s incredibly flattering.
Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in 235 Warm Me Up
I don’t own many nudes like Warm Me Up (a satin) – maybe two? – and I was really uncertain if it actually flattered me at first. But as time has gone on I’ve come to love it, especially because it still lets some of the pigment of my lips peak through.
