essence Lip Liner Collection – Review & Swatches

I am having a little essence moment lately – I just want everything from the brand. The polishes are amazing, the blushes are amazing, the eyeshadows…but honestly my favourite thing from the brand are the lip liners. The essence lip liner line is quite extensive and I have five of them, though I feel a bit like a Pokemon trainer when it comes to these – gotta catch ’em all!

Essence lip liners are a traditional wooden pencil (which I personally prefer over plastic) and they’re really easy to sharpen. Sometimes pencils can get chewed up really easily in sharpeners or the leads break constantly, but not with the essence lip liner! Everything about them is smooth from sharpening them to applying them.

These lip liners are a great mix between creamy and long wearing, and they are seriously pigmented. I sometimes wear these on their own (even though they’re a bit drying) because they have enough color in them on their own without a lipstick.

Of the five shades I have Satin Mauve is my favourite. It’s a gorgeous cool toned pink that works wonderfully under any lipstick. It’s also great for overlining the lips if that’s your thing! Red Blush is a dark red, Honey Berry a gorgeous purple-toned berry that I love wearing on it’s own, Cute Pink and Wish Me a Rose are both lovely pinks, though Wish Me a Rose is just a little bit brighter.

  1. I have Catrice lip liner and I think it’s lovely and very creamy, never tried Essence ones though but I know many seems to favour them. I have tons of favourite products from Essence; the lipsticks, bronzer and nail quick dry drops.
