It’s hard for me to believe that it’s already time for summer collections, but as the weather gets warmer and warmer it absolutely makes sense. I am so excited to bring a sampling of the Lise Water Escale Summer Collection, which took an inspiration from oceanside resorts, a brisk sea breeze and striped beach umbrellas for their newest collection.
I have five items from the collection to share with you today: the Lise Water Escale Palette for Eyes and Cheeks, Escale Bronzing Powder, an Intense Waterproof Eyeliner in Vert Marin and two Limited Edition shades of Lise Watier’s Ombres Fraîches liquid eyeshadows in Alizé and Austral. This is going to be a rather picture heavy post – I just couldn’t resist. Everything is so pretty!
Lise Watier Escale Palette for Eyes and Cheeks
I only have experience with one other eyeshadow palette from Lise Watier – a palette from summer 2014 – so I had a little bit of an idea of what to expect from this beauty, but wasn’t 100%. Before I even dipped my fingers into the products I ooh’ed and aah’ed over the packaging of the palette – the plastic exterior feels weighty and the material over the top of the palette reminds me of bags I would carry my swimming things with when I went to the beach. When you open it up you are greeted with a gorgeous array of summery shades and a beautiful gold background surrounding them. And…to top it all off – an enormous mirror. There is nothing I love more than an enormous mirror!
I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to do with the collection of shades in this palette – the eye shadows lean cool, but the blush is super warm and I’m not the best with coming up with ways to wear color on my eyes anyway. But after some playing I do admit I’m enjoying the little pops of colour – especially because it’s so fun to add that little bit of colour to the bottom lash line!
I’ve also discovered my new favourite brow powder – the mid-toned matte brown can be used as an eyeshadow but I adore it for my brows. It’s the perfect shade for me and it glides on so easily!
Lise Watier Escale Bronzing Powder
I may have squealed when I opened this compact up. I love bronzers. I love them more than any other makeup product, I think, and this one is just so pretty. Within the normal brown tones Lise Watier has swirled gold, light beige and magenta throughout the bronzer so you can really target what colours you want more of. I actually love to use this is an eyeshadow too – use some gold all over my lid and the browns through the crease…perfect.
One thing I have really noticed with this bronzer is that it’s hella pigmented. It’s really easy for me to get stripey with this because it’s got so much colour to it, but it’s also easy to blend out if you do put too much on your face.
Lise Watier Ombres Fraîches Liquid Eyeshadow
I received two of the three new, limited edition Ombres Fraîches eyeshadows and I admit, I have struggled to figure out how to wear them. They are absolutely stunning – especially the green, Austral – but I really struggle with cream eyeshadows. I always have to set them, no matter what I do, and by putting another powder over top I feel like a lot of the magic of these beauties gets lost.
The Ombres Fraîches have a really great applicator – it’s kind of spongey so it picks up a ton of product that allows you to swipe it all over the lid with one go. They set pretty quickly as well, so if you’re going to blend I’d do that one eye at a time. If your eyelids agree with cream eyeshadows I would absolutely recommend these, but unfortunately they just didn’t work with my super oily lids on their own.
Lise Watier Intense Waterproof Eyeliner
I have a love/hate relationship with eyeliner. Sometimes I can’t stop wearing them, and then after a while I get tired of them and won’t touch them for months. But if my collection was filled with these Intense Waterproof eyeliners I might use them more often. This pencil is creamy, easy to apply and feels light on the eyelid but doesn’t smudge. At all. And my eyelids are prone to smudging. Plus, the shade Vert Marin is a gorgeous deep green that I am all about. It feels like more of a fall colour to me, but I don’t mind. I’d wear this all year round.
I am a really big fan of the entire Lise Watier Escale collection, and honestly I kind of want to get my hands on the nail polish and lipsticks that are available because they’re just that pretty.
If you want to see these products in action, be sure to come back next week when I will have a makeup look (or two) featured!
