Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipsticks in Pink Lace, Show of Pink and Berry Blossom

There’s nothing quite like trying a new lipstick formula, so when these Marcelle Rouge Xpression lipsticks showed up on my doorstep I couldn’t help but get excited. It also helped that they came with these adorable sushi props, which is just adorable. But I digress…

This is the first time I had tried a Marcelle lipstick and if all of them are like this…well, let me tell ya, I’m gonna need some more. They are so hydrating! They feel almost like a tinted lipbalm, but with more pigment. Because they are so hydrating, they don’t last very long on my lips but I’m loving them. Sometimes you need a light lipstick formula y’know? One that doesn’t feel like lipstick, but still gives you that flash of colour.

Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick in Pink Lace

I thought I had found the perfect nude before this, but I was wrong. I have never worn a more flattering and easy to wear nude lipstick in my life. Pink Lace is sheer, moisturizing and…absolutely beautiful. This is one of those reapply without looking lipsticks and I’m so into it.

So many nudes that are this pinky-peach colour settle into my lip lines or look to milky on me, but not this one. Nope, it’s just perfect.

I don’t go for coral lipsticks often, but with all of the snow that was dumped on Halifax last week I was really drawn to Show of Pink. I am not convinced it’s super flattering on me when I’m pale, but I imagine with some bronzer it will be to die for.

The formula is similar to Pink Lace, though it’s a bit more pigmented do to it’s bright nature. It’s super creamy and light on the lips, though I have to wear a lip liner with it because I’m afraid it’ll slide everywhere.

Marcelle Rouge Xpression Pearl Lipstick in Berry Blossom

I don’t really do pink berry lipsticks. They’re just not me. Purple berries, red berries, yes. But this magenta-ish berry is not quite what I’d reach for regularly. That being said it is an absolutely beautiful shade and has a beautiful sheen to it due to the pearlized finish. Berry Blossom is the most pigmented of the three Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipsticks I have here, and it’s once again super comfortable to wear.

Can you tell how much I enjoy this formula? It’s easy to apply, comfortable to wear, and with a lip liner lasts a good few hours before it disappears on you. I really can’t wait to explore this line more!

Quo Cosmetics Holiday Collection 2016

It’s finally starting to feel like the holiday’s – maybe it’s because the semester is finally over, or the fact that Halifax actually has snow now, but I am officially ready to tuck into sugar cookies and apple cider over here. Luckily for us beauty lovers, that also means there are heaps of amazing holiday collections on the shelves now too, and I have a few of the goodies from the Quo Cosmetics Holiday Collection 2016 to share with you today.

Vichy Teint Ideal Makeup Review, Swatches

There is very little that gets me as excited as skincare infused makeup, so when the new Vichy Teint Ideal range landed in my mail box I was so eager to tear into it. I received five pieces from the line, including the Teint Ideal Fluid FoundationTeint Ideal Cream FoundationTeint Ideal Compact PowderTeint Ideal Bronzer in Sunkissed Glow and Teint Ideal Highlighter.

The Teint Ideal range is held beautifully in nude and gold packaging that feels high quality without feeling like a bag of marbles in your bag. The liquid foundation comes with a pump (which I honestly expect at this point) and the applicators included in both the bronzer and powder foundation are useful for putting product on your face. Pretty good, huh?

Maison Jacynthe Makeup Review + Look

There is nothing quite so exciting for me as trying out a new Canadian cosmetics brand – especially if it’s colour cosmetics. I love skincare to bits, but there is something so much more fun about playing with colour! Today’s new brand is Maison Jacynthe, a French Canadian brand by Jacynthe René, an actress and producer from Quebec.

essence Longlasting Lipstick in Coral Calling & On the Catwalk!

At the end of summer, Shoppers Drug Mart marked down the essence Longlasting Lipstick section of the essence shelf, and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple. I’ve been on a serious lipstick kick the last few months (my lipstick storage is completely full now…) but I was so happy to add these two to my collection.

First Ever Colourpop Order!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a haul here, but I am so darn excited about my first ever Colourpop Cosmetics order that I had to share a little peak. I haven’t tried any of these products for a long enough time to have any definitive thoughts, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share a little bit of makeup porn, right?

By now, most bloggers have tried at least something from Colourpop, but it’s taken me ages to jump on the bandwagon. Honestly, it was Kaitlyn’s fault. When I was in Toronto a few weeks ago she was sharing her recent haul and I swatched Kween…that was that. I couldn’t resist. Especially because it happened to be in the free international shipping period. Continue reading

My Experience at the Bite Beauty Lip Lab in Toronto!

While I was in Toronto, I couldn’t help but go to the newly opened BITE Beauty Lip Lab on Queen Street West. I’ve wanted to go to the one in New York since I first heard about it and it was too good of an opportunity to pass up to walk by it and not go in. Initially I was all oh, I’m just gonna go in and look around, but as soon I stepped in the door I knew that was a lie.

Covergirl Plumpify Mascara Review

I really adore trying new mascaras – it’s really fun for me to discover new gems, especially at the drugstore! The Covergirl Plumpify Mascara is all about the volume! Covergirl claims that it “plumpifies your lashes with 50x volume boost for full lashes!” ( I love a lot of volume on my lashes, so I was excited to give it a try.

Covergirl Plumpify Mascara Review |

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the packaging was how enormous the brush is on this! It’s a bit of an intimidating shape anyway (it’s so spiky!) but it is legitimately the size of my eye. Yikes. I struggle with getting mascara all over my eyelids with small brushes, so this one is a bit of a nightmare for that. If you’re neater with mascara you might be okay, though! I just don’t have the coordination. 😉 Continue reading
