Makeup Collection: Bronze and Gold

I’ve been trying to find a way to show you my makeup collection for about a month or so, but it’s just not easy with only photos. This is definitely one of those times where video would be easier. After watching Samantha’s video focusing on all of her purple products that I decided to do it like this. I could have very easily split up these posts via product type, but splitting it up by colour feels a bit more fun.

Now I’m not going to lie…this isn’t quite all of the bronze and gold products I have in my makeup collection. If I included every single product I feel like we’d be here all day. This is more of a curated makeup collection post.

Makeup Collection: Bronze and Gold | uptherollercoaster

Bronze and gold are two of my favourite colours to wear. It’s so easy to throw them on and look put together – especially when it comes to eyeshadow. It’s natural without being matte brown (which I love, but can get boring) and it can be played up when you want to be fancy. It helps me feel daring when I’m really not. 😉 Continue reading

Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour Kit Review

Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Kit in Light/Medium | uptherollercoaster.com

I’ve had the Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Kit in Light/Medium for just about half a year now, but I’ve only briefly talked about it. To be perfectly honest, it’s because I was struggling with the whole contour thing. No matter what I do I feel like I have a stripe across my cheeks, so I just end up feeling self-conscious. However…I’ve been playing with this kit since April and I finally feel comfortable enough sharing my thoughts on it. Continue reading

Pan that Palette – Urban Decay Naked 3

Pan that Palette Urban Decay Naked 3 | uptherollercoaster.comThis will be my first time doing a Pan that Palette challenge. And I know, I know. Last time I talked about my Project Make a Dent progress I talked about how I was over these kinds of projects, but I’m really into it again! So I think I just needed a little break from that one.

For those of you unaware, Pan that Palette is a challenge to use up a specific palette in a set amount of time. I’ve already started this (three days ago), and I think I’m going to really enjoy using it. The Naked 3 is a really lovely summer palette! Continue reading

On Milestones

On Milestones | uptherollercoaster.com

When I was in my early twenties, I thought by the time I was 25 I would have so much figured out. I’d have a degree, a full time job, a dog and I’d be working towards paying off my student loans and getting a down payment for a house. Now I’m just about 26 and I still have two years left in my undergrad degree (thanks indecisive 23 year old me), and I am not even close to being able to get a dog or getting a full time job. Beauty Guide: Job Interview Makeup

Job Interview Makeup | uptherollercoaster.comJob interviews are damn stressful. I had one last week and I went to do my makeup and my mind went absolutely blank. Eyeshadow? What’s eyeshadow? How do I do my brows again? I seriously couldn’t remember anything about my normal routine, it made me very glad that I decided to do my makeup early.

So that you don’t have to go through what I did (and let’s be real, so I can consult this post again when I need to) I decided I should document what I did for my job interview makeup.

For me, the key to job interview makeup is keeping it natural. While I desperately wanted to wear bright purple lipstick so I could fake confidence, I didn’t want to be worrying about having purple lipstick smeared across my face. And maybe it would have been a little too much, even for an interview for a theatre company. Continue reading

Behind the Scenes Tag

I love reading tag posts. They’re fun and let me get to know the writer a bit more, so after seeing Chelle’s video on the Behind the Scenes tag I thought I would give it a go as well. The original tag was video-centric so I changed some of the question to fit in with a blog better.

I hope you enjoy!

Sandal Ready Feet with BVSpa & Flexitol

Sandal season is upon us and I don’t know about you, but my feet get particularly dry once I start to pull off the socks on a regular basis. All the moisture gets sucked right out of them, despite what I do to them and they turn into a dry, cracked disaster. I’ve tried a multitude of moisturizers and different ways of exfoliating, but it’s only been with the combination of the BVSpa Sugar Scrub or the BVSpa Salt Scrub in combination with the newly reformatted Flexitol Heel Balm that I have sandal ready feet.

Dry Shampoo Showdown: Batiste, COLAB, LUSH

Washing my hair is one of those things that has just turned into a chore. I don’t mind the actual washing, but having wet hair is just the worst. So I guess you could say that I am a dry shampoo addict. I will go as long as I possibly can between hair washes (don’t worry, I still shower…) and thanks to my friend dry shampoo I don’t look like a greaseball.

I’ve tried my fair share of dry shampoo in the past, though I do admit that since finding COLAB I’ve been less likely to branch out. It’s hard to want to try new product when you’re so in love with the one you have, but it’s time. Continue reading
