FOTD: Bronze Bares All

FOTD: Bronze Bares All

A few weeks ago, I reviewed one of Sephora’s latest favorites boxes: the Sephora Favorites Bronze Bares All kit. In it you’ll find everything you need to turn yourself into a glowing, bronzed goddess. Or if you’re a neutral lover like me, you’ll love it even with the goddess properties. 😉 As soon as I opened the kit I new I wanted to show off how to use it, but I got so busy playing with it (and life got in the way, lets be real) that I completely forgot to photograph it until this passed week. Better late than never, right? Continue reading

#VichyWorksForMe: Idealia Life Serum & Idealia Skin Sleep Review

#VichyWorksforMe Idealia Life Serum & Skin Sleep Review

This post contains products that were sent to me for my consideration. Go here for my disclosure policy.

About three weeks ago I received an exciting package from Chick Advisor with Vichy Idealia Life Serum and Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep inside. I was pretty stoked – skincare doesn’t usually excite me but there is something about these two products that had me tearing open that box as soon as I got the mail.

TUTORIAL | Beauty Guide: The Glasses Edition

Makeup for Glasses

I’ve had a few requests for tips on how to make makeup work for glasses wearers, and what better way to share them than through a Beauty Guide post? I was super excited to write this until I sat down to write it – and then my brain went blank. How do I wear makeup any differently than someone without glasses? Do I at all? Sure, there are a lot of rules that glasses wearers are told to follow by magazines and bloggers alike, but are they actually necessary? The short answer – no. Makeup is makeup and you can wear it however you want. Though they do exist for a reason… Continue reading

The Versatile Blogger Award

The Versatile Blogger Award

photo credit: Death to Stock Photo

Thanks so much to Christine who nominated me for this little tag/award! The Versatile Blogger award celebrates bloggers who are pushing the envelope, whether that be through writing, photography, topic, etc. so I’m very touched to be included!

The Versatile Blogger award is a pretty simple tag post to complete – the recipient writes 7 facts about themselves and then nominates some bloggers to do the award next! Seems as I don’t do Sunday Posts often anymore, this is perfect for letting you into my life a bit more. So without further ado…

Sephora Favorites: Bronze Bares All

Sephora Favorites: Bronze Bares All
Last week I broke my no buy streak (I’d been doing so well too!) and bought the Sephora Favorites: Bronze Bares All kit. This is unfortunately not available online anymore (at least not at the time of posting), but check your local Sephora if it interests you! I knew as soon as it was released that I was going to have a difficult time saying no to this kit. Becca, NARS, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Tarte, Sephora Collection… this power house kit is full of some of my favourite brands, so how could I possibly resist?

The Sephora Favourites: Bronze Bares All kit comes with:

Beauty Face Off: beautyblender vs. Real Techniques

Beauty Face Off: beautyblender vs Real Techniques

It seems like every company is coming out with a makeup sponge now. It started with the beautyblender and it doesn’t matter if they’re high end or drug store, there are dozens of options out there now. I have two to compare today: the original beautyblender and the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, a more affordable alternative.

Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer in Poppy Pop

Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer in Poppy Pop

I was going to wait to review the Clinique Pop Lip Color + Primer in Poppy Pop until I ultimately caved and bought a second shade (or third…), but I just couldn’t wait to share it with you. I love everything about this lipstick from the packaging, to the colour to the formula. Since I picked it up in the Spring VIB sale I’ve worn it more than any other lipstick I own. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.

Poppy Pop is a delightful red leaning orange with enough sheen to make your lips juicy and healthy, but not so much that it slips and slides off of your lips. I have a lot of fine lines in my lips and most lipsticks exaggerate them, but Poppy Pop just glides right over them. My lips don’t look flawless of course but they certainly look moisturized and happy.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. What a mouthful! I can never remember the full name – usually I just refer to it as the new NARS foundation, but occasionally I’ll manage to spit out NARS All Day Luminous Foundation. “Weightless” never manages to make it across my lips, though I can’t say that has anything to do with how the product feels at all. More likely it’s all about the unfortunately long name. (All the adjectives!)

Haircare Wardrobe: May 2015

This post contains products that were sent to me for my consideration. Go here for my disclosure policy.

Question – where did May go? I swear at the start of the month I was thinking that June was ages away, and now it’s here and my wedding anniversary is four days away. What.

Haircare Wardrobe: May 2015

But with a new calendar page (yes, I still have a physical calendar – it’s of my niece and nephew and it’s ADORABLE) comes another wardrobe post. My makeup really didn’t change that much this month – I’m still obsessed with orange lips and coral cheeks – and my skincare is pretty underwhelming right now. Luckily I have discovered a fabulous combination of products this month that has left me pretty happy with how my hair looks.

The Foundation Brushes

The Foundation Brushes

This post contains products that were sent to me for my consideration. Go here for my disclosure policy.

When I’m not haphazardly smooshing foundation across my face with my fingers, I reach for one of three foundation brushes to make my skin look pretty. These three brushes aren’t necessarily all meant for foundation, though that’s what I use them for the most.
